Dead Rising. It was the reasoning behind why Quinn actually emerged from the safety of his bus. During one of his many klutzy episodes, the boy accidently broke the disc and was now in desperate search for a new one. With his hands shoved in his pants pockets and the lazy way, he carried himself allowed him to give off the appearance that he was actually a normal person. However, just like everything in this world, you cannot judge a book by its cover and Quinn Connley was a major example of that. With all of his odd habits, awkward little quirks that set him apart from the others Quinn was the farthest thing from normal. This would explain why he was currently walking around the mall making fishy faces looking for a video game store.
The lanky boy was quickly growing bored with his expedition for a replacement game. In all honesty, if it hadn’t been Dead Rising he wouldn’t be so persistent about replacing the silly game. Quinn has a love for zombies and video games so when the two are combined it is like a holy grail for the boy. For a Saturday the mall was actually, pretty empty which was a surprising, but pleasant thing for Quinn. Generally, the mall was packed to the brim with people young and old alike hustling and bustling around trying to buy this or that and not actually paying attention to where they are going or whom they are suddenly stopping or cutting in front of. Those were the times in which Quinn dreaded the mall, he was constantly tripping and bumping into people who often had short tempers and would glare at the boy even though he apologized repeatedly for something that wasn’t his fault in the first place.
Quinn was one of those people, he was too nice for his own good, however, luckily enough he hadn’t had anyone actually take advantage of that fact yet. Not that many people stay around long enough to try, since they in most cases end up running off after spending an hour or two with the boy. Quinn could only be glad that he was not on any sort of time limit or in a rush because he would be having a panic attack by now. He never imagined how hard it would be to find a gaming store in a mall. Normally Quinn has some sort of little inner compass that points him in the right direction, but today he was at a complete loss. With a frustrated huff, the boy pulled his hands from his pockets and rubbed his face feeling exasperated at the moment.
Slowly spinning around in a circle the messy haired boy scrunched up his nose as he pursed his lips attempting to decide which way he should go next. By this point, the average person would have sought out some sort of help, but like the classic man mind-set Quinn was determined to find this stupid store without asking someone for help. He ran his hand through his hair repeatedly causing it to look even messier and un-kept than it had just previously looked.
A look of excitement crossed the boy’s almost childish features as he noticed a familiar sign. It was some generic video game store, but that didn't bug Quinn in the slightest, he was just ecstatic that he actually found the store and much like a kid in a candy store rushed over as fast as he could without actually running like a wild child who his parents have no control over. Dani was lying on her bed on her tour bus and stared at the ceiling. She didn’t really have much planned for the day and was currently just doing nothing. She sighed and pushed herself up. She didn’t want to waste a perfectly good day lying around staring at things. So, the brunette hopped off her bed and stripped, jumping into the shower. She came out a few minutes later and got dressed. Nothing fancy, just some jeans and a long sleeved top. She towel dried her hair and combed out the knots before just shaking her head. It always fell into place and dried how she liked it, so she never bothered with it. Slipping her purple flats on, she grabbed her bag and phone and hopped off the bus.
Some places ran through her head as she made her way towards the city and off the tour grounds. She started down the sidewalk towards a little café and paused when she reached it. She shrugged to herself and went inside, only to come back out with a caramel mocha latte. She needed something to kick start her brain. She had been staring at a ceiling for over an hour. She swallowed and sighed in content. It always made her feel better. She passed by some shops and she glanced into the windows as she passed. Then it clicked. She hadn’t been to the mall yet, that’s what she could do. Smiling slightly, she took the next turn in the sidewalk and headed to the mall.
She could to a ton of shopping. Which was good and bad. Mostly bad, when she ended up getting things that were cute, but ended up not being word or used. She didn’t care though. It was her money and she could blow it however she pleased. Coming to the big building, she pushed the door open and made her way inside. She went through a few stores, getting a couple things from each before heading up to the next floor. She was surprised to see how empty it was. Especially since it was a Saturday. The weekends were usually busy, but then again…there was a band tour going on, so then she wasn’t really surprised. A few of the bands were going on today, so she figured everyone was there.
She wandered down the hall and smiled when she saw her favorite underwear store. Gulping down the rest of her latte, she tossed her cup into the trash before making her way in. It was stores like this that her money wasn’t safe in. If it was in her size, she bought it. She liked having cute bras and underwear. She spent a good forty-five minutes in there before finally leaving. Of course, not without buying good amount of items. She walked by a few other stores, not really interested in what they had, only to come to a gamer store. She was tempted to just keep walking, but she could use some new games for the bus. She had played the ones that she had at least a dozen times and was bored with them already. She definitely needed something new.
She went in and glanced at a few of the games on the walls, skipping past some of the shooter ones. It wasn’t that she didn’t like them, she just didn’t prefer them. She grabbed a couple off of a shelf and made her way down the wall, staring at the different games. She normally looked where she was going, but she hadn’t been in a game store for a while, so she was concentrating on the choices. Not a good idea when she bumped into someone looking at some of the games as well. She blushed slightly, “I am so sorry,” she apologized, as she looked to the person she bumped into. She hoped they wouldn’t be mad at her.

The boy’s fingers tapped each case as his eyes skimmed over the titles reading with a growing excitement. His long legs allowing him to cross the threshold with ease as he approached a different section of games; repeating the process. Quinn was well aware of the fact that he looked either like a hobo or one of those currently in style ‘hipster’ kids because of his current attire. A pair of pants with holes in the knees, a pair of old worn out dress shoes and a shirt that also had a hole or two dotting along the collar of it made up his appearance not to mention his now completely disheveled hair. It wasn’t as if he only owned clothes with holes in them, well except his pants, there is only maybe one or two pairs of pants that Quinn owns that doesn’t have holes along the knees due to his constant falling.
However, other than his pants, really he takes nice care of his clothes and has the ability to dress up when he feels the need or when the occasion calls. One thing about Quinn, if you let him loose in a comic book store or a video game store the boy goes off into his own world. He in a way looses touch with reality as he reads the titles and the summary on the back of each box or each issue. Either way he loses himself in his own little world and today was no different. This store was no different which is exactly why it was not shocking that the boy felt his body colliding with another. There was no thought, it was just something that came naturally to him by now “I’m sorry” Quinn said at the same time as the other. He knelt down picking up the game that he dropped during the collision, but stumbled backwards a bit as he actually looked at whom he knocked into.
His greenish gray eyes widening considerably taking in the girl’s appearance. He knew she was familiar, she was a solo artist like himself, he however, hadn’t actually met the girl yet, but then again he hadn’t actually met most of the other people who were on tour with him as well. With not even a half of a step backwards, the boy was knocking into a counter causing him to gasp and spin around as it started to tip over. But of course, Quinn being Quinn who attempted to steady the counter ended up tripping over his own feet somehow which not only sent him crashing to the ground, but the counter and all of the games it held along with it. By this point everyone in the store was staring and Quinn’s face was beat red from embarrassment.
The boy could only glance around helplessly at the games surrounding the floor and bite his lip as he quickly stood up, but in the midst ended up back on the ground since he stepped on a case and it slid out from under him. You think by now that Quinn would be use to such embarrassment, but alias he was not. At this point, he had no idea what to say as he looked over to the girl with wide child like eyes “Umm” there wasn’t much he could say that could salvage the situation that he just got himself into. With a gulp and after scratching the back of his head Quinn managed to get to his feet without falling again. He could feel his neck and face burn up as they stayed a scarlet red, not letting Quinn even attempt to play this off.
Not that he would have been able to anyways. Any words that the boy could manage to form were quickly lost when he looked back to the girl standing in front of him. Quinn had never been good around girls, hell Quinn had never been good around people and if this was evidence then I don’t know what is. The poor kid could just never catch a break. Dani frowned slightly when she noticed that she made the boy drop what he was holding. She was about to kneel to get it for him, but had already beat her to it and picked it up. “I really am sorry,” she apologized again, running her hand through her hair. “I should pay better attention,” she said with a small smile. When he looked up at her, her eyebrow rose slightly in curiosity. He looked familiar. She didn’t actually know him, but knew he was part of the tour. Another solo artist, like herself. She had been so wrapped up in her things and hanging out with December, she hadn’t made her rounds to introducing herself to the other members of the tour. Except for Matt, but he did that himself.
She kept her curious look on him for a moment longer, only to have it change when he stepped back and bumped into a counter, causing it to tip. Her eyes widened at the site. And again, like the kind person she was, she was about to help him from falling, but her numerous bags weren’t exactly helpful and the poor boy fell to the floor along with all the games that were on the counter. She felt bad for the boy and it was all her fault. If she hadn’t bumped into him, he wouldn’t have freaked and tripped. When he went to stand back up, he tripped on another game. She’s never met someone so clumsy before, and she couldn’t help but crack a small smile.
Once he was back on his feet, she watched as some of the store employees came over to clean up the mess. “Are you okay?” she asked, concern in her voice. She didn’t mean to make him nervous, or whatever. She brushed some hair out of her eyes and smiled again. “You’re on the tour too, right?” she asked. “I’m Dani.” At least now, he would know who she was. “I promise I won’t bite,” she assured him, before walking over to another row of game. She glanced back over at him and smiled. He was cute, even if he was a bit clumsy.

Quinn shook his head furiously as the girl spoke. It wasn’t her fault, it was his own for being so damn jumpy all of the time. “Oh no, it’s my fault” Quinn responded as he stopped shaking his head. His vocals didn’t seem to match his almost boyish features seeing as they held a deep baritone with a raspy over lay to them, however, it fit him in an odd way. Thanks to all of the meets and greets Quinn has managed to get rid of the stuttering to some extent, it just depends. Really, he was kind of surprised that he didn’t stutter in that moment. It was fairly, easy to guess that the boy was anything but okay. In fact, it was safe to say that Quinn was mortified. Not that this was a rare occurrence for the poor boy, truthfully, this sort of scene was quite common, which helped Quinn’s decisions to stay on his bus and play video games or practice for his shows.
While some people hadn’t actually met a lot of their fellow tour buddies due to hectic schedules or a strong dedication to their music, Quinn just simply avoided meeting others so he could avoid embarrassing himself and making himself look like an idiot in front of those who he would be around for the entire tour. Of course, one of the first days that he actually ventures out of his little cave he manages to bump into a fellow artist and then knock an entire rack over and cause an outrageous commotion that the workers would now have to clean up. Just wonderful. They probably hated him now and all this kid wanted to do was buy a stupid game to avoid these incidents. A frown graced the boys lips as a light blush covered his cheeks when the employees began to clean up the mess he had created while he followed the girl, just wanting to get away from the scene.
Quinn had heard her question, but didn’t actually register that she asked until he turned his back on the fallen games which resulted in a delayed head nod. “Quinn” he replied actually taking in the girls appearance for the first time. She was a pretty thing without a doubt; something would definitely throw Quinn off when trying to have any sort of conversation with the girl. A low chuckle nervously escaped his lips as he rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand as he stepped next to her and began looking at titles. “Well that’s a good thing,” he answered softly, not sure if his voice would actually reach her or not, not that it really mattered. Dani couldn’t help but frown slightly at the boys words. She still felt so bad, and he was telling her it was his fault. She got rid of her frown quickly and smiled. “A fault on both our ends,” she reassured him. Her fault for not looking, and his for…well being a little clumsy. But even as he was on the floor, looking pitiful, Dani could help but admire his adorableness. His voice did not fit his looks whatsoever, but she wasn’t bothered by that at all. He looked to be about her age, maybe younger. But December was four years younger, so age was pretty much whatever to her. She didn’t want to see too nosy. Not yet at least. She always thought it was a little rude when asking peoples’ ages. Girl or not. It was just not nice. Asking their birthday was one thing. Not a lot of people said their birth year, just their month and day.
She had wondered why she didn’t see him around the grounds often. Everyone on the tour was off doing something, and she had talked to some while she was doing her own thing, but his was a face she didn’t see around. He probably just had other things to do. Hell, if she wasn’t friends with most of the people on the tour, she wouldn’t come out of her bus until she needed to. It was cozy and he never really felt a reason to leave it, unless she was getting some drinks or hanging out with December. Or in this case…getting new video games. Everyone was complaining about having the same games for way to long. Sick and tired of it all, Dani just decided to get some new ones. She really didn’t care what she bought, as long as it shut everyone up. Then she could get peace and quiet as she thought of new songs.
She smiled at the boy when he gave her his name. Well, it was nice to know who he was. “Cute name,” she replied, glancing back at the games. She didn’t know a lot of Quinns, but then again, she didn’t know a lot of Dani’s either. It was one thing if your name was Danielle, and people called you Dani, but that wasn’t the case with her. People always asked what it was short for, but it wasn’t short of anything. Her name was just…Dani. That’s it, nothing special. She liked the uniqueness of it. She picked a couple more games off the shelf she was looking at and looked them over. She wasn’t sure how to play them, but she was sure her staff could. She laughed, hearing him. “It is…unless you’re some weirdo that’s into that sort of thing,” she joked.
