if there was one particular thing delphine had always been particularly good at doing, it was studying. she studied, over and over again, until she pretty much knew whatever that she had had to learn by heart. it was mainly why she had picked up all those languages so quickly. her father had once told her that she had what was called a photographic memory when she was just a child. he could have pretty much stuck her in front of the page of a dictionnary for a little over an hour and she would have most likely learned it by heart without even having to repeat it to herself out loud or write it down over and over again. once she knew a word, it simply was stuck in her mind for the rest of her existence. and that processus worked with absolutely anything that you might have asked her to remember such as biology, physics or chemistry things. the reason behind her success in school and why most people asked her help right before exams came around was as simple as that. it was just a natural talent that she had inherited from her mother. the only thing she had ever inherited from her, really, and the only thing she really did not mind having. if she ever became like her mother, if she had ever done something like her mother had to her to daniella, the young woman did not think she would have ever been able to forgive herself. however, her pregnancy, in opposite to her mother’s, had gone perfectly and so she had not even been given the chance in the first place to even attempt becoming like her mother. and, as of today, that definitely was the thing in her life she was the most grateful for. if her child had still been alive, she thought she would also have been the most grateful for only that, for being given such a beautiful, wonderful gift. however, it had been taken away. even if her father had told her over and over again it was the price she had to pay for the sin she had commited, she refused to believe it. she had always refused to believe in a vengeful god who punished, who would have ever dared to separate a child from its mother. however, was that not what had happened in her case? this was all out of the question, though, seeing that now, she was on tour with people that, she was pretty convinced of it, did not believe in god the slightest. or maybe they did but, just like her, refused to admit that they were strongly convinced there was some kind of higher force that controlled somehow their destinies. like the others that might have believed in it just like her, it was, for her, out of the question to ever bring it up at any possible time in the near future. whenever, in interviews, she was asked if the fact that her father was a priest had had any importance on her life at all, she always twisted the truth a little bit. she usually said that it had had a big place in her life before she had left home to leave on tour with neon lover. however, once she had started to live like a real rockstar, she had decided to put her beliefs aside to learn more about what the world had to offer to her while still respecting her dad by living by what he had once taught her were good manners. that answer always seemed to please everyone. it was definitely not the typical answer a “good girl gone bad” would have ever given, simply because delphine definitely was not one of those. in fact, she was rather far from it and was proud to admit just that. she was proud of the fact that she came from a totally different environment and thus never was going to let that go. she would never let herself become one of them, as she liked to put it. however, the more time she spent on the tour, the more she found herself loosening up a little. she had not yet decided if this phenomenom was a bad or an actually good thing for her. after all, even if she had always been really open-minded about pretty much anything in life, she still had, just like everyone else, her prejudices that she simply could not overcome. but the tour had helped her see another way to live her life and she was forced to admit that she was not completely disliking it. every single night, she found herself hanging out more and more into every possible nightclub in town, every possible bar. and even if she was not completely okay with the practices that went down in those places, she did like the ambiance and seeing people have fun or, when she went with friends, she liked the atmosphere of socialization such emplacements provided. delphine found herself hanging out with people she barely knew anything about as well. she would plan things with them, meet them wherever they might have wanted to. if she had still lived with her father, he definitely would not have approved of such ways and would have told her over and over again the story of how him and her mother had met and how it had been completely natural and not through some match-making site. he definitely did not understand the concept of social networks that young people such as her used nowadays to communicate. she had to agree on one point with him, however, and that was the fact that the young people such as her did not understand the beauty that resided behind actually meeting up with someone. it explained a little why she always tried to arrange some kind of meeting between her and the people she met over the world wide web. such as now. will was not someone she particularly knew or to whom she had ever talked, really. all that she knew of him was that he was on tour and that she thought he played in some band. he could have been a technician of some kind, for all she knew. she set that, to know who exactly he was, as her goal for the day as she walked beside him, a light smile on her lips. beautiful weather, isn’t it? she asked in a carefree tone, looking up at the sky with one of her eyes closed to keep it from being hurt by the strong sun rays of the middle of the day. she then looked back at him, wondering if he thought that she maybe was a little too carefree, talking about the weather like this. oh, that totally was her, always worrying about what others thought of her. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - credit , to me tagged , mister guille ‘will’ serrano-zambudio, aka verta. music , everything on my comp. outfit , clickers, bby.words , ONE ONE FOUR NINE. notes , finally got around to making that. sorry if it rambles and if it sucks.
